About the Grand Seminars
The Martial Arts Commission has developed a Grand Seminar Series that will prepare participants to achieve various types and levels of Certification.
1. PURPOSE: One of the MAC’S missions is to Educate, Certify and Credential its members in various dimensions of the Martial Arts for the purposes of
1. Continuing Education (i.e., constantly encouraging their own personal growth), and
2. Business Development (i.e., providing new value-based revenue streams) by
a. Providing curricula that will help their own students grow in their appreciation of the Martial Arts, and
b. Providing curricula, teaching methodology and business practice that
· is supported at the national level, and
· can be implemented at the school level in a turn-key manner
2. CERTIFICATION and CREDENTIALING
The following types of Certification are offered:
1. Dan Rank Certification
2. Instructor Certification
3. Dojang Licensing
4. Dojang Manager
5. Poomsae & Special Event Instructor & Judge
6. Special Curriculum
a. Kimoodo
b. Hapkido
c. Gumdo
d. Special Tactics
e. Creative & Sport Poomsae (Performance)
f. Breaking
Participants who successfully complete a seminar session will each receive a USAT-MAC document displaying their names and the number of Credit Hours earned toward future Certification and the current Level of Certification (Level I; Level II; Level III; Level IV; etc.) At the completion of a Course, the Participant will receive an Official USAT-MAC Document specifying the appropriate Certification or Licensing.
3. STRUCTURE of COURSE OF STUDY
LEVELS – A Course will be made up of Levels
SESSIONS – Each LEVEL will be made up of SESSIONS, ranging in length from 2 to 8 hours each
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS – Each Session will accumulate credit hours toward Course completion
4. LOCATION of COURSES
At major USAT-MAC and MAC events throughout the year. Events include:
a. U.S. Open (February)
b. USAT Junior Olympic and Senior National Championships (July)
c. MAC Expo (November)
5. COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Each Course will have its own Certification/Credentialing requirements. Among those requirements are:
